Which EV Home Charger is best for me?

At Bevan Electrical Services Ltd, we can help you choose the best EV home charger for you. Whether it’s the convenience of a tethered charge point or the flexibility of a socketed one, we have you covered.

HomeSmart Socketed WallPod

The socketed HomeSmart WallPod offers a flexible and future proof EV home charger for all drivers.

Socketed EV charging points have a built-in IEC 62196 (Type 2) charging socket, allowing you to connect either a J1772 (Type 1) or an IEC 62196 (Type 2) public charging cable, depending on vehicle make and model.

A socketed option provides flexibility: by simply swapping the cable, you can charge every PHEV/EV vehicle on the market. Ensuring that you have the right cable you can simply plug in, charge and drive away.

HomeSmart Tethered WallPod

The tethered HomeSmart WallPod offers EV drivers a quick and convenient way of charging their vehicle at home.

Tethered charging points come with either a J1772 (Type 1) or IEC 62196 (Type 2) 5 metre cable permanently attached.

Simply unwind the cable and plug into your vehicle.  Once charging is complete, remove the plug from the vehicle and rewind back around the unit.

The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) provides grant funding of up to 75% towards the cost of installing electric vehicle charge points at domestic properties across the UK.

To help private plug-in vehicle owners offset some of the upfront cost of the purchase and installation of a dedicated domestic recharging unit, the Government is running the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme. Customers who are the registered keeper, lessee or have primary use of an eligible electric vehicle may receive up to 75% (capped at £500, inc. VAT) off the total capital costs of the charge point and associated installation costs.

To qualify you will need to be the registered keeper, leaseholder or be nominated as the primary user of an eligible electric vehicle. You will also need designated private off-street parking.
